QuteCom's Roadmap
Here is a summary of what is planned for releases to come, with their priorities:
QuteCom 3.0 - Integrating Verona
Must-have
- Quality of core components
- Voice - echo cancellation, make & receive calls, codec negotiation
- Stability - no known reproducible crasher bugs
- Log off/log on should work perfecty, as should resuming after suspend (in the context of power management, rather than SIP)
- User experience
- Provide a mechanism for contributing service provider configs and presenting them in a nice way to the user, who can choose their platform from the configs available, or create and submit a new config for their service provider
- Developer experience
- Improve build process and documentation
- Automated builds for Windows, Mac, Linux
Should have
- Interoperability
- Perfect interoperability with Asterisk & other SIP platforms
- Improved interoperability with other SIP clients
Would be nice
- Improve video pipeline (webcam detection, image acquisition & rendering, codec support)
QuteCom 3.1 - Reintegrate core features
Must-have
- Video support - codecs, video capture and rendering, adaptive quality, webcam detection should improve
- Assisted call transfer
- SIP SIMPLE presence
Should have
- QuteCom pro version - voice only, no IM, no video
Would be nice
- Jingle video call support
